Charity concert in aid of the DEC Ukraine Appeal

It was lovely to see all those at yesterday’s Easter meeting. Certain committee members made for excellent Easter bunnies(!) and there were lots of items of cheerful craft work on display. Thank you to those who took the trouble to provide them, to supply raffle prizes and Easter eggs to be given to the homeless. Thank you also to Trevor Carter, author and story teller, who provided some original poetic entertainment for us.
Link to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, as given on the mainstream UK news channels tonight… https://www.dec.org.uk/
Hope this is a useful link for those wanting to support the Red Cross Crisis Appeal for people struggling in Ukraine…
This link leads to further links, to organisations trying to help both people and animals in the Ukraine. If you would like to support these organisations, then you can find out how to do so here. Please feel free to share the post widely.
Many thanks to Jenny Smith, who gave an interesting talk and demonstration session, on the topic of Shibashi Tai Chi, at our February meeting this week. Here are a few photos of our ladies having fun practicing some of the exercises, (you can click on a picture to enlarge it and then move through the gallery using the arrow keys).
It has been very disappointing to have to cancel our January meeting, but we hope you will enjoy looking at these nice photos, taken during our Christmassy meeting last month, during which we had a great time singing songs together. A reminder of the fun we have when allowed to meet up without horrid Covid issues to be concerned about! Hopefully we will be able to run our February meeting as planned and we’ll all have a good catch up again then.
With great regret, we have to announce that our planned first meeting of 2022 has had to be cancelled, due to the current Covid risks 😦
However, we are still planning a good get together on Wednesday 9th February and very much hope to see all our members, plus a few ‘newbies’ on that afternoon.
Book Club and Craft Club are still expected to go ahead in January, as they involve considerably smaller groups of people than our main meetings.
Some exciting news for all those who enjoy making art and craft items, especially in the run up to Christmas…. There is a big Craft Show taking place from 25th to 27th November, at the Bath and West Showground. A great place to explore, enjoy and find crafting supplies 🙂
