The new WI Learning Hub is now live!

The new WI Learning Hub is now up and running 🙂 Hopefully many of our members have had a chance to explore this great new facility online, having received information published by NFWI and then sent on to individual WI groups by email. (There have also been articles published in recent editions of WI Life). Many of the interesting courses available to WI members through the Learning Hub are now free, although a few do still incur a small cost. There are live courses, (presented through Zoom), and also those which can be watched on demand at any time. The courses cover a wide variety of topics and even include some entry level short courses in foreign languages, originally created by the Open University. The link given here will take members to the Home page of the Learning Hub, from which it is possible to learn much more about the new system and explore the fabulous range of courses on offer. Happy browsing!

April’s Easter meeting

It was lovely to see all those at yesterday’s Easter meeting. Certain committee members made for excellent Easter bunnies(!) and there were lots of items of cheerful craft work on display. Thank you to those who took the trouble to provide them, to supply raffle prizes and Easter eggs to be given to the homeless. Thank you also to Trevor Carter, author and story teller, who provided some original poetic entertainment for us.

February’s meeting is on! :-)

  • Good news – our February WI meeting will go ahead on Wednesday 9th February at 2pm in our usual venue – Oak Room in the Jubilee Centre in Bradley Stoke.  This week it is a Tai Chi demonstration.
  • Coffee morning is in the John Lewis café on Wednesday 23rd Feb
  • Book Club in the library at the Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre at 2pm on Monday 14th February – Valentine’s Day
  • Craft Club on Tuesday 22nd Feb in the Management Suite in the Willowbrook Centre at 2pm
  • Table tennis every Monday in the Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre at midday – meet before in the café for coffee.

Photos from our December Christmas meeting

It has been very disappointing to have to cancel our January meeting, but we hope you will enjoy looking at these nice photos, taken during our Christmassy meeting last month, during which we had a great time singing songs together. A reminder of the fun we have when allowed to meet up without horrid Covid issues to be concerned about! Hopefully we will be able to run our February meeting as planned and we’ll all have a good catch up again then.
